In 2013, we arranged an art exhibition for Tom, an Irish artist with a gallery in Cork. For many years, Tom's visited Novigrad every summer to paint and, loving it here, he wanted to share his passion and give something back to the community.
So we organised a two week exhibition of his local work in one of Novigrad's community centres. There was an opening party, with food provided by a local master chef and music from a Swedish brass band (the exhibition coincided with a tour we arranged for the band, so we brought them both together). The mayor gave a speech, many local dignitaries attended and we arranged for an official art critic to review the exhibition. More importantly for Tom, thanks to our promotion, most of Novigrad’s residents and many tourists came to see his paintings of the town, the sea and Istria.
Tom was delighted. As he said, “This exhibition was the product of many years of mutual love.”
